Exchanging link with sites those share similar content is a plus for your search engine optimization efforts. Not only Seo wise bu also traffic wise. In matter of visibility searchers can find it easier to reach you from a site that shares the same content just like consumers who looking for something try diffrent shops in mall till they find what they are looking for.

API s provided by search engines :
Right now there are not many api s provided by search engine service provided only google provides one as far as i know. Google api offers you many stuff like letting you learn pagerank of a webpage or list number of a webpage based on a specific search. Forexample if you had a website about dogs given the data dog by using api functions provided you and your website adress you could get on what page and degree your website is listed on google. Traffic Analyzers may referr to 2 things
1-) Those that gathers data about your own web site which is local traffic and basicly should be called log analyzing.
2-)Those that gathers data about more than 1 site which is kinda analyzers that we are intrested in.
Ofcourse log analyzers are helpfull for seo as well but they will be explained under another title. so traffic analyzers can give you an idea on how well you are doing on seo. And how much more you have to work seo to have a decent traffic. They basicly define standarts for web site traffic in terminology. Alexa is an example for traffic analyzers. You can find Alexa here. By typing your website adress you can to reach to the information they are offering. Log Analyzers :
As traffic analyzers log analyzers help you analyze your current status and may give you ideas about on which points you should stronger your keyword density where your traffic is feeded from. These are very valuable data think of as a feedback to your seo efforts. If your traffic is lower than you expected then it means you should increase your search engine optimization efforts otherwise you can go out and have drinks with your friends.
